Chillicothe's girls lacrosse team defeated St. Albans, WV, 7-6, in triple overtime on Saturday. According to CHS Coach Allen Hawk, it was the first out-of-state game for the lacrosse program.
"We fought more than just the Red Dragons as the wind was gusting at over 50 miles per hour at times and the stadium lost power during the game," Hawk said. "The high winds made it very difficult at times and the Red Dragons played a very physical game."
Hawk said that Chillicothe and St. Albans were tied 6-6 at the end of regulation.
"After killing off a 2-minute yellow card where we played with one less player in the second overtime, we were still tied at 6," said Hawk. "In the third overtime, Mallory Seymour scooped up her 11th groundball of the game, dodged three defenders, and scored the game winner."
